Robert "Bob" John Gaudi

Robert "Bob" John Gaudi, age 86, of Bigfork and Thousand Palms, Calif. passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2004, at his home in Thousand Palms. He was born May 25, 1918 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Joseph and Theresa (Migilori) Gaudi.

He was raised in Glendale, Calif. He served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1942 to 1944. In 1948 he graduated from the University of Southern California School of Architecture, Cum Laude. He established Robert J. Gaudi and Associates, AIA, in 1952 in Los Angeles and Corona, Calif. On January 16, 1956, he married Vivian (Nolan) in Reno, Nev.

He was past president of the Lions Club and Boys Club in Corona, a member of Coachella Valley Watercolor Society, a member of American Institute of Architects, Emeritus. He was also an avid fly fisherman, skier and sculptor.

He is survived by his wife Vivian of Bigfork and Thousand Palms, his son John De Witt Gaudi, of San Diego, Calif., his daughter Karen Van Pelt and husband Jim Van Pelt III, of Roswell, New Mexico, and his grandson James Van Pelt, IV, of San Diego, Calif.
