Shelby's a good team

To the editor,

The Columbia Falls swim team coach Ryan Nevins gave me the opportunity as an interim coach while he was out of town for a week. In the July 22 sports section of the Hungry Horse News, there was an inaccurate quote about the Shelby Swim Team: "Shelby is a thorn in our side, but they are a good team."

Besides the fact this statement was created by the reporter, this is not my opinion of the Shelby team. I do not think of the team as a "thorn in our side" whatsoever. As a former Columbia Falls swimmer, I have enjoyed competing against swimmers from all towns in the federation, especially Shelby. They have good swimmers, excellent coaches, and they harbor a sportsmanship quality, which makes the competition rivalry friendly.

Kudos to Shelby swim team coaches Jan Buyske and Ali Kronebusch, who continue to build their group of swimmers into competitive athletes.
