Richard "Boris" Bowman

Boris Bowman, of Fortine, passed away recently in Fortine.

He was born July 10, 1943, in Swiftwater, Penn. He attended high school in Stroudsburg, where he won a prize in a state poetry competition. He came West and attended the University of Montana, majoring in forestry. He met and married Colleen McBroom, of Ohio, in Missoula, and they later moved to Seattle, Wash. Their daughter Brighid was born to them there. They purchased a farm in near Hills, British Columbia, Canada. Their son Brendan was born there.

Boris worked in several places as a finish carpenter and construction problem-solver, including Washington, California, Alaska, Missoula, Bozeman, Helena, and Kalispell. He enjoyed gardening, making furniture, and wildlife.
