The Wildcats picked up their first road win in nearly two years Saturday, downing the Yellowjackets in Stevensville, 55-36.

Jack Price scored a game-high 17 points and William Dyon added 11 as Columbia Falls picked up its largest win since downing the Bulldogs by 20 in Whitefish Feb. 8, 2018.

“We were getting good ball movement and our shots were going down,” head coach Chris Finberg said about the win. “Our defense looked a lot better than last weekend. Everything was just better for us.”

The Wildcats knocked down seven threes in the opening half as Columbia Falls built a 15-8 lead after one quarter and a 33-17 halftime advantage. The Yellowjackets closed the gap to nine early in the third quarter, but the Wildcats used an 11-2 fourth-quarter run to put the game away.

“We will be playing a lot of road games this season, so getting that first road win of the season was a big boost for us,” Finberg said. “We really had some players step up when we needed them to.”

Price and Dyon each had three three-pointers and five assists in the win while Price added three steals and four rebounds and Dyon had three boards.

Cade Morgan finished with nine points, Danny Henjum and Allec Knapton each added six, and Jake Bulawsky, Mason Peters and Dillon Shipp each scored two.

The Cats will be on the road again Thursday as they take on the Glacier Wolfpack in Kalispell.

“The Glacier game is always a tough one, being a AA school and all,” Finberg said. “It will be a good test for us early in the season.”
