It was another tough week for the Wildcat basketball team as they fell at home to Browning 67-37 Thursday before dropping a game on the road at Hamilton Saturday, 78-40.

I wish we would have been a little bit more competitive, but those two teams are very good, head coach Chris Finberg said about the losses.

Browning used an aggressive full-court press to devastating effect in the first half Thursday as the Indians built a 22-9 lead after one quarter before taking a 42-18 advantage into the break.

We knew they were coming out in a full court press, but it is something that is hard for us to simulate in practice with the same intensity we were going to face, Finberg said.

Dillon Wanner led the Wildcat effort with eight points while Zach Pletcher added seven.

The Cats fell behind early again Saturday as they trailed Hamilton 28-11 after one quarter of play and 46-18 at the half.

Our defense was not very good in the first half against Hamilton and they knocked down the shots we gave them, Finberg said.

Dillon Shipp led the Wildcat offense with nine points in the loss while Drew Morgan added eight.

The Cats were at home against Ronan Tuesday and will host Corvallis Saturday.
