CASA reflects on ‘24, looks to ‘25
As 2025 starts to take shape, CASA for Kids reflects on a year of incredible accomplishments that have transformed the lives of children navigating the challenges of the foster care system. Thanks to the unwavering support of our community, we have continued to advocate for brighter futures for the most vulnerable members of our community.
In 2024, 169 children benefited from the dedicated advocacy of a CASA volunteer. Through 105 court reports and over 450 thoughtful recommendations, our advocates ensured that the voices and needs of these children were heard and addressed in court—a testament to their diligence and compassion.
Last year we welcomed 10 new advocates to our team of 83 experienced volunteers, who collectively completed approximately 560 hours of intensive training. This training equips our advocates with the knowledge and tools necessary to provide the most informed and effective support for every child they serve.
Our FOCUS program delivered vital resources to youth, including laptops for four young individuals, providing them with essential tools to pursue education and independence. Additionally, we facilitated 16 community resource educational opportunities and organized 7 community service projects, empowering children to grow, learn, and give back to their communities.
During the holiday season, CASA for Kids brought joy to 116 children in 57 foster homes, delivering gifts not only to foster children but also to their siblings, ensuring no child was left behind during the Christmas celebrations.
“Your generosity fuels this life-changing work,” said Cindy Basnett, Executive Director at CASA for Kids. “Every child served, every advocate trained, and every success story achieved is because of supporters like you. Together, we are changing stories and changing lives.”
As we look forward to 2025, CASA for Kids invites the community to continue making a difference. The financial donations and willingness to volunteer from our community ensures we can stand beside these children, offering them the support and hope they deserve.
