Thanks from skateboard association

The community of Columbia Falls will soon have its very own skatepark. While it feels strange to be celebrating such an event as the snow has begun to blanket town, we are nonetheless grateful for all the people who helped bring this dream to reality.

Of course, this project was not completed by merely a few. We would like to begin with a special thanks to those who planted the skatepark seed decades ago, and more recently, the City of Columbia Falls staff and Council Members who stepped up to shepherd the process through the ranks. Thanks to the local business who hosted fundraisers and donated auction items, such as Montana Coffee Traders, North Fork Pizza, The Coop, MT Taphouse, and Glacier Lanes—thank you!

Special thanks goes to the generous donors who believed in the project, especially Montana Pool Service, Montana Skatepark Association, and many generous private donors. Additional gratitude to Becky Edwards and Sara Swan Busse of Mountain Mamas for connecting us with the Land and Water Conservation Grant.

Our deepest gratitude goes to Dreamland Skateparks who weathered the many ebbs and flows over the past three years with passion and grace. A difficult combo to master! From attending City Council meetings to being ready to roll with a full crew who worked tirelessly through inclement weather, Dreamland Skateparks has been a trusted partner. Our biggest bow of appreciation goes to owner Danyel Scott who went above and beyond to build a world-class park in her home valley.

We, the Badrock Skatepark Association, are humbled and honored to have shared this process with so many wonderful people. Columbia Falls is a special place, and you all selflessly showed up to make our town even better. We all have so much to be thankful for.

One word of importance—the park is CLOSED until Dreamland completes the final touches next spring. Any use this winter could jeopardize the park’s finish and longevity. So please be respectful and stay out of the park until the grand opening next spring. Taking care of our new park begins now!

Thank you, Columbia Falls!

With gratitude,
