Twins named state co-champions after rain shortens game

With a 5-1 rain-shortened lead over Gallatin Valley in the Class A American Legion Baseball State Tournament Championship game, the Twins were named Co-Champs on Sunday, Aug. 4.

Glacier scored four runs in the first and another run in the second for a 5-1 lead before the weather stepped in. The Twins had eight hits, including Stevyn Adrachick’s 2-for-2 performance and double.

Noah Amerman, Maddox Muller, Matthew Mitts and Trenton Derosa all drove in runs in the victory. Michael Miller pitched three innings, allowing just two hits and striking out one.

Seven of the nine Glacier hitters had hits in the short game. Gallatin, on the other hand, had two hits and an error.

Glacier currently has a record of 40-13 before it heads to regionals.

Glacier Opens Up State Tournament With Win



Glacier won its first matchup of the Class A American Legion Baseball State Tournament in Polson on Wednesday, July 31, defeating Lethbridge 4-2. Kellen Kroger pitched seven innings, striking out six and scattering four hits.

Glacier scored two runs in the first and Lethbridge answered back with a run in the third. The Twins would score a run in the fifth and sixth inning and hold on for victory.

Noah Amerman drove in a run for Glacier, while Matthew Mitts had the Twins’ other hit.

Twins Defeat Belgrade

Glacier collected eleven hits, including a home run by Matthew Mitts in a 9-5 victory in the Class A American Legion Baseball State Tournament in Polson on Thursday, Aug. 1. The Twins scored five runs in the top of the eighth for the victory.

Belgrade extended the game into extra innings, scoring a run in the bottom of the seventh to live another frame.

Maddox Muller went seven innings for the Twins, strikeout out four and allowing just two earned runs. Stevyn Andrachick struck out two in the final inning of work.

Kellen Kroger, Maddox Muller, and Mitts each had two hits. Muller had five RBI and a double. Kroger and Noah Amerman also had an RBI.

Twins Close Down Gallatin Valley



Glacier got off to a hot start and powered past Gallatin Valley 7-4 in the Class A American Legion Baseball State Tournament on Friday, Aug. 2 in Polson. Stevyn Andrachick had a home run in the matchup, while Michael Miller was 3-for-4 with four RBI and a double.

Glacier led 4-1 after one inning before Gallatin Valley cut the lead to 4-3. The Twins answered back with three runs in the fourth and held on for victory.

Glacier finished with seven hits, including hits from Kellen Kroger and Noah Amerman.

Twins Fall To Mariners



Glacier couldn’t overcome an early Mission Valley lead in a 6-5 victory in the Class A American Legion Baseball State Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The Mariners led 5-1 after one inning, but the Twins answered back with three runs in the top of the second and another run in the top of the sixth, which would force extra innings. Mission Valley scored a run in the bottom of the eighth to walk off with the victory.

Treyson Muphy pitched seven and two-thirds innings, striking out four and scattering three hits. Glacier finished with ten hits, including a 3-for-4 performance by Matthew Mitts. Stevyn Andrahick drove in two runs, while Noah Amerman also drove in two runs and went 3-for-4. Jacob McIntyre also notched an RBI.

It would be the lone Glacier loss of the tournament.
