Patricia Carol Rhodes

Patty Rhodes was born Sept. 4, 1946 in Plentywood and died Sept. 2, 2021. She moved to Coram in 1964. She worked for Benny Olsen in Coram at the Knotty Pine Cafe for several years.

After Benny passed away, Patty bought the cafe from Benny’s wife, Doris. Patty operated the cafe for many years and decided to leave in the the mid-1980s. She took a year off and then accepted a job at the Montana Veterans Home, where she worked for 20 years and then retired.

Patty completed three years of college at the University of Montana and also graduated from the school of cosmetology in Spokane, Washington.

Patty loved to cook and garden. Camping and hiking, downhill and cross-country skiing, planting and growing flowers were all her all her passions, as was living in the woods.

She treasured painting watercolors and learned and painted with her mentor and teachers Dodie Ridenour and Debbie Murray.

Patty was extremely active in the Canyon Community Church and loved by all there. She is survived by her spouse, Edwin Rhodes; son Chad Parris and wife Chris and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters Hazel Luxford, Marjorie Caudill, Silivia Luxford; brother Albert Luxford and stepson Tony Rhodes.

There will be no memorial service at this time.
