Columbia Falls now has its own blessing box.

A blessing box is a large box where people can donate non-perishable food items, clothing and other things people might need, said organizer Shannon Fraleigh.

Fraleigh first spearheaded the effort in Kalispell and last week brought the idea to Columbia Falls.

Local Carol Watson will administer the box. The box is located next to the Boys and Girls Club across the road from Glacier Gateway Elementary School.

All the clothing is cleaned, bagged and tagged before being out in the box. Toiletries and food are in their original packaging.

The items are free for anyone to take.

The idea of the Blessing Box has been popular across the U.S.
