Search scaled back for missing Blackfeet toddler

| May 5, 2021 6:10 AM

The search for a missing Blackfeet 3-year-old girl has been scaled back.

Arden Pepion was reported missing April 22 in the area surrounding Joe Show east of Highway 89 southeast of Browning.

Despite a massive search by law enforcement, and volunteers, the search was scaled back on Saturday May 1, Blackfeet law enforcement said.

The search, which lasted for 10 days included searchers on foot, horseback, dive teams, kayaks, boats, helicopters drones and canine teams.

A contingent search plan is now in place and searchers are reminded to keep an eye out for predatory animals and changing water conditions, as spring runoff has started.

Pepion is about 3 feet tall and 31 pounds with brown eyes and dark brown hair. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket with a unicorn design on the front, a gray sweater, black leggings, and black boots.

Anyone with any tips is asked to contact Blackfeet law enforcement. At (406) 338-4000.
