Community events: Goat Yoga on tap

Santa at Club

Santa Claus will be at the Boys and Girls Club across the road from Glacier Gateway Elementary from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 11. Anyone can come and visit with Santa at this free event. There will be refreshments and activities for children.

Night of Lights

The North Valley Senior Center in Columbia Falls will have chili, chili dogs and soup during Night of Lights Dec. 3 from 4 to 8 p.m. Cost is $5. There will also be a bake sale and music by the Jammers. There is also a sale at the United Methodist Church before the parade. Santa will be at the Glacier Institute following the parade. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. Floats should lineup at 5:15 p.m.

Christmas store

The Klothes Kloset Thrift Store on Nucleus Avenue and Church Women United of Columbia Falls are having their annual Christmas Store from 9-4 p.m. on Dec. 7 and 9. We save new to nearly new items all year long for this sale. All our profits are shared back with community non-profit groups. We only accept cash or checks when buying items.

Women connect

Columbia Falls Women’s Connection will host their annual Christmas Tea on Wednesday, Dec. 8 at 11:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church located at 827 9th St West in Columbia Falls. Guest speakers will be Marin Blandon from Sugar Happy and Francis Erler will share about her life as a music teacher, outdoor educator and author of fiction and non-fiction. Nature photogs

The Northwest Montana Nature Photographers meet on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the United Way building, in Kalispell, Room 26, on the northeast side of the building. Guest speaker will be Nick Fucci, instructor at Flathead Valley Community College. Nick does photo safaris and workshops all around the world and has been featured in, National Geographic, Montana Outdoors and many other magazines. Meeting is free of charge.

Christmas Goat

Yoga (Goga)

Farming For the Future Academy will be holding a Christmas Goga for all who wish to attend on Dec. 17th at 2 p.m. at the Montana Veterans’ Home in Columbia Falls in the Service Building. Please bring a yoga mat and possibly a carrot for the goats (it’s Christmas for them too). Cost is free, but donations are welcome. For more information call 406-253-4369.
