Bikers do well at Last Best Ride mountain bike race
The Last Best Ride bike race hosted 550 cyclists Sunday as they rode the trails and gravel roads around Whitefish. The inaugural event included two courses, a 47-mile route and a 90-mile route. Several Columbia Falls racers did well at the inaugural “Last Best Ride” Mountain bike race in Whitefish and the Whitefish Range over the weekend.
Maria Phelps of Columbia Falls took 10th in the 47-mile Mountain Goat race and Erika Fitzgerald took 16th. Fiona Swartz of Martin City was 42nd, Sarah White of Columbia Falls was 50th.
On the men’s side, Trevor Stolte took 10th, Stephen Willis took 20th and David Boreno 47th.
In the 90-mile Bighorn sheep race, Ed Eberhardy of West Glacier took 36th.
