Columbia Falls got a ton of wrestling in at the Class A duals tournament in Lewistown over the weekend. The MatCats made it into the championship round, where they went 1-2 in duals.

On Friday the MatCats took third in their bracket, which advanced them to the finals.

They beat Hamilton 57-18, Polson 48-27, but lost to Miles City 45-21 and Park County High School in a squeaker, 37-35.

On Saturday, they beat Hardin 42-36, but lost to Frenchtown 47-22 and Lewistown 48-30.

The MatCats travel to Whitefish for another duals tournament this Friday. It’s the last event for the MatCats in the regular season that’s close to home. Divisionals are in Ronan the following Saturday and the state tournament is in Billings, as it has been for decades, the weekend after that.
